Greetings from the Maryland Veterinary Technician Association
We had a successful Fall Conference for the third year in a row this past October in Laurel, MD. We had speakers come from around Maryland and the country, had two tracks of lectures, plus an informative panel discussion and had over 100 veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants from MD and surrounding states in attendance.
We’ve made public outreach and education a priority as part of our effort to educate the public and the veterinary profession on the role RVTs play in veterinary medicine and to advocate for our profession. We participated in two general public outreach events held by the Baltimore Humane Society and BARCS this past fall and we will have a booth at the World of Pets Expo the end of January. We’ve been working closely with students at the CCBC Veterinary Technology program to develop educational lectures for pet owners and will be debuting these lectures during the World of Pets Expo as part of their lecture and workshop series.
Our 2020 Spring Workshop Series will be starting soon, so please check our social media pages and website for information when we open registration. MDVTA members receive a 30% discount off registration fees. www.mdvta.wildapricot.org
