Veterinarian Status as Vaccine Priority Group

Yesterday, January 4, a letter from MDVMA on behalf of its members was sent to the Governor and secretaries of the departments of agriculture and health requesting that veterinarians and veterinary team members be included and listed, after front-line health workers, for receiving the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine.
As of this writing, we have not received confirmation that veterinarians and their staff have been assigned to a specific phase of the vaccination rollout plan, however, prioritization is subject to change.
In the meantime, we will monitor the process and continue to seek clarification. When more information is available, we will provide another update.
