PPE Donations
The MDVMA appreciates your support and patience during this challenging time. We know personal protective equipment (PPE) in veterinary medicine facilities are likely already limited due to current demand and backorders. However, MDVMA has been working with the Maryland Hospital Association (MHA) to collect PPE supplies if you are in a position to do so.
The following items are needed:
- N95 respirator masks, all sizes
- Viral swabs
- Face Shields
- Nitrile gloves (all sizes)
- Non-latex gloves (all sizes)
- Eye goggles
- Shoe covers
- Standard isolation gowns
- Standard face masks
- Surgical masks, yellow with ear loops
- Secure Guard Procedure masks, blue
- Isopropyl alcohol
- Quaternary ammonium compounds
- Ventilators
If you can donate any supplies, please email MDVMA president, Dr. Elizabeth Cottrell, at ecottrelldvm@gmail.com. Include the quantity of each item and for ventilators, as much information as possible (e.g. type, model number, etc.).
The MDVMA encourages practices to utilize cloth gowns, caps, and masks for veterinary procedure in order to preserve PPE. For more information on making cloth masks visit the University of Maryland and scroll down to “Calling All Makers”. For more information on guidelines for use of PPE please visit the AVMA.
